Join me for an afternoon in the NBPT Studio, a newly renovated space in a historic 1800s building in downtown Newburyport, MA as I share my industry knowledge of all-things Photo Styling. Whether you're looking to get your start as a Stylist or are hoping to fine tune some existing skills, this one day workshop will fuel your creativity and allow for confidence building and professional development!

This will be a small group workshop to maximize your time for asking questions and getting the attention you need throughout the day. We'll have 4 hours of workshop time, with a sit-down lunch hour (included in your ticket price) sourced from a local food purveyor.

The workshop will include segments on product styling, prop styling, and food styling. I'll be doing live demonstrations showcasing each category while explaining tips and tricks as I'm styling. I'll discuss different avenues for working in the industry, and share the secret contents of my styling kit. After lunch, you'll have the opportunity to flex your creative muscles and create your own styled set in the category of your choice. I'll have plenty of product, props, and food available for you to work with. During this time, I'll be circling the studio giving feedback and suggestions to help you hone your skills. This workshops does not include a photography portion, but I encourage you to bring a camera or your phone to capture your creations throughout the day.

This workshop is ideal for:

-
Small business owners looking for tips on creating styled photos/content
-

Not sure if the workshop is right for you? Send me an email. I'm happy to chat with you!

Please bring a notebook, a camera or phone if you'd like to capture the day, and a positive, supportive attitude!

Lunch and coffee will be provided.
Who am I?
I am a freelance commercial and editorial Photo Stylist serving greater New England. Prior to going freelance in June 2019, I was the in-house Photo Stylist for the Stonewall Kitchen Family of Brands for over three years. I also have experience being signed with an agency, and working as a Content Creator for brands. I've hosted networking events, weekend-long workshops and 1:1 workshops, and I also work with small brands and businesses by sharing my skills in a small scale, on-location workshop format. “The Workshop opened my eyes in so many ways. I discovered a career path that I am truly passionate about, learned the fundamentals that I needed to start my journey and discovered a community of creatives that support, encourage and inspire one another. It was truly worth every penny and I would go back in a heartbeat!”

"Suzanne’s [1:1] “Intro to Styling workshop“ offered me the knowledge of the industry I needed to start building a portfolio. The workshop is structured so that you receive concrete resources that she has built from experience as well as inspirational tips to foster your own individual creativity. Suzanne is passionate about her work and brings a personal and genuine approach to her sessions. "

“Being able to be open and connect with strangers who share similar interests as well as learn more about food/prop styling and writing [was most valuable]. I hope you'll do more [workshops] in the future! It's such a great thing to get creatives all together!”
-Jenn B.
“Opportunities like this [workshop] are often hard for me to partake in and without your kindness I don’t think that I’d be feeling as inspired to move forward with my interests and aspirations as I feel today. I truly do feel as though I walked away from your retreat with creative ideas spilling at the seams. I hold a better understanding of photo styling through your demos, social media with our roundtable discussion, and our one-on-one meetings.”
-Jessica B.

When asked the most valuable lesson learned while attending a workshop:
“The biggest one [lesson] was that you don't have to be a 'type' of person to do something like go on a retreat. All you have to be is a person willing to learn and grow. I honestly couldn't have been more happy with the workshop and wouldn't change a thing. You did a great thing Suzanne; I really feel that I'm part of a community from this event. The sense of community and learning [was most valuable]. I felt like I learned, made connections and also friends, and it was fantastic.”
